Clays for Cara
was started in 2010 out of the desire to help one family that was dealing with a devastating medical diagnosis. Since that time, we have grown significantly and have been fortunate enough to provide direct financial assistance to many families dealing with the expense of life-threatening and life-altering illnesses. We have also established the Cara Ann Hobbs Endowment at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to help fund cancer research and have created the Cara Ann Hobbs Foundation, which is the 501c3 organization under which Clays for Cara operates.
The majority of our revenue comes from the annual Clays for Cara event, which includes a sporting clays tournament, live auction, silent auction, and dinner, and is held annually in the fall in the Texas Hill Country. In 2018, we added a second event to our calendar, and the Clays for Cara North Texas event is held annually in the spring. Through the generous support of our corporate sponsors, financial donors, attendees, and auction item donors, we have been able to grow each year and support more and more families. While we are not in a position, and do not have the expertise, to help with the medical aspects, our desire is to continue to provide direct financial support to these families to help with the financial burden of fighting cancer and other life‐threatening illnesses.
Please join us in this work.
